FoxBASE is an Xbase development system designed by Microsoft for the Macintosh. This development system was succeeded by Visual FoxPro. The former version supported numerous new features like, added object orientation and client/server support. Mainly used by the programmers, the application is used to build both large and small business applications. Widely known for its compatibility and speed with dBase, the application creates a file with .dbf file extension.
Corruption or damage in .dbf file occurs mainly due to three reasons – file header corruption, virus infection, and operating system malfunction. A major hazard that the user might encounter after the .dbf file corruption is the inaccessibility of its stored data/information. A valid data backup acts as a boon in such times of adversities. It enables the user to restore the data and continue with its personal or professional work.
However, the problem occurs when the backup file becomes inaccessible due to below two reasons:
- Backup file gets corrupted/damaged
- The storage media of the backup file gets physically damaged
- Backup file is not updated
- Backup file is deleted
